The Server Virtualization Workgroup is continuing to gather metrics via a virtual infrastructure planning assessment tool at in-scope agencies. The workgroup is beginning the process of utilizing the data collected thus far to determine the amount of hardware required to host existing virtual workloads. Once the hardware requirements are determined, the workgroup, in conjunction with the Enterprise Storage Workgroup, will begin to identify the initial agencies for consolidation.
Options for the conversion of existing virtual server licenses are being explored, projected Lines of Service are being reviewed, and preliminary work on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) is underway.
Finally, an official request will be made for read-only access to existing virtual environments at in-scope agencies.
