The workgroup is continuing to evaluate IBM Power 8 server and V7000 storage hardware. A test database provided by the Department of Environmental Quality has been selected to serve as a key part of the trial.
It is anticipated that an Intel-based system with flash storage will be tested during the month of October. The hardware architecture for the State’s future Oracle hosting environment should be finalized within the next 30-45 days.
Discussions continue with Oracle Corporation about the reassignment of existing software licenses into the Office of Technology Services.
